Some dental problems are genetic or acquired during childhood, while others develop as adults as our mouths and teeth are exposed to a variety of elements in daily life. In either case, modern dental advancements can help you prevent, reverse, or repair tooth issues.
Our general dentistry services include:
Professional cleanings on a regular basis are critical in preventing future dental problems. To maintain oral health, we recommend that you have your teeth professionally cleaned every four-six months. Our hygienists, Charity and Stephanie, are very gentle and make the process fun and informative!
Do you have any cavities in your teeth? Cavities can result in infections, toothaches, and even tooth loss. Fillings are one of the most effective ways to remove cavities and refill them with tooth colored materials. We can also use fillings to repair chipped or broken teeth, especially on your front teeth.
Are your teeth cracked, decayed, or damaged? While fillings can be used to cover minor damage, crowns are a better option for severely damaged teeth. We will place crowns over your damaged teeth to protect them while restoring your vibrant smile. We have the ability to utilize CEREC CAD/CAM scanners to take digital impressions of your teeth, no more messy putty!
If the damage has resulted in tooth loss or extraction, we can use a dental bridge to fill the gap. It not only restores the integrity of your teeth but also prevents them from shifting out of place and causing other more serious problems.
In some cases, damaged or infected teeth cannot be repaired. Alternatively, your teeth may be too crowded, causing you pain or undermining your self-esteem. In this case, we can extract a tooth to restore your health and comfort.
Dentures are a great way to replace multiple missing teeth or all your teeth. When there are healthy teeth remaining we can discuss a partial denture that hooks onto the remaining healthy teeth. A full denture replaces all of your teeth and some patients consider using implants to help snap the denture into place. There are many nuisances to dentures and Dr. Furman or Dr. Merritt would be happy to discuss with you further!
Do you grind, gnash, or clench your teeth unconsciously? Excessive tooth grinding or clenching can affect anyone, including adults and children, and is most common at night. Also known as bruxism, the condition can lead to headaches, tooth pain, jaw pain, earaches, disturbed sleep, worn-out teeth, and other dental issues. Children may get over it, but adults, in most cases, need night guards to protect their teeth from damage by acting as a barrier between their teeth.
These are just a few of the services we provide. Sealants, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, and other services are also available.
